This is the first text of 2021 here on the 3000dias website and I am very happy to be content focused on good news. 2020 was a year with so much heavy information that it's like a relief to know that we are reporting good news.
Do you remember that we made a movement a few months ago focused on incorporating omalizumab in the ANS ROL, so that he was covered by minimum health plans?
Remembering: there was a Public Consultation to understand citizens' opinions regarding the decision of the National Supplementary Health Agency (ANS) – which, on that occasion, preliminarily recommended not incorporating the medicine.
In addition to supporting and informing about the Public Consultation, we at 3000dias decided to create a petition in favor of the inclusion of the medicine, which had a large participation of patients.
That undersigned that we created came to reinforce with the ANS the importance of the medicine for patients with chronic spontaneous urticaria, and how the treatment was essential to regain quality of life. There were more than 760 signatures in a few days and this material was sent to those responsible, strengthening public participation in the matter.
The results of the Public Consultation were recently released and a record number of participations was reported. Contributions to ANS Public Consultation nº81 – List of Procedures and Events in Health – had a record number, with an increase of 500% in relation to contributions from the previous CP – this is something wonderful: we are more active in participation related to public health and how this is important!
These results show the engagement and mobilization of patients and health professionals in the causes.
And the good news I was about to tell you is that the ANS, with the results of the contributions in the Public Consultation, changed its position on medicines and procedures, which will now have mandatory coverage by health plans, including omalizumab, indicated for spontaneous chronic urticaria.
BUT HOW WILL IT WORK?
This Normative Resolution that brings the new list of procedures will come into force on 04/1/2021 – so that health plans can now adapt to this new standard.
Therefore, from April 2021, when the role enters the scene, health plans will be required to cover 69 procedures and medications for different diseases. In this post from Collaborate with the Future we have a complete list of new additions to the ANS List.
We at 3000dias are very happy and grateful for you, followers who helped us participate in this movement to incorporate medicine to treat our pathology.
Thank you for everyone's activism, for your digital presence, through sharing content and sharing the links to the Public Consultation and also the petition to other people.
Look at the good news for this new year: treatment for chronic spontaneous urticaria (CSU) covered by health plans.
Happiness!
